I started my working life as a butcher before becoming a licensed taxi driver 20 years ago. Over my years of driving a taxi around Edinburgh, I got to know every corner of the city – and a fair few anecdotes.
Through chatting with my customers I realised that most people hardly ever take the time to look up and pay attention to what’s around them. They miss out on the amazing architecture – and the history behind it.
I like to tell stories and I found myself passing on what I had learned to people in my cab. From there, it was a natural progression to becoming a tour guide.
I’m a real history geek and I have learned a lot over the years through my experience as a tour guide and devouring every book on Scottish history I could find.
I set up Kilted Black Cab Tours so that I could share the secrets and hidden gems of my beloved country with visitors like you.
