Loch Ness Monster Hunt

Myth, mystery, and magical scenery abound on this hunt for the illusive Nessie.

Tales of a large monster living deep beneath the dark expanses of Loch Ness have circulated the world since the first photograph emerged in 1933. Will your group finally capture the evidence needed to prove it exists?

This tour is 12 hours long.

Falls of Dochart

Your first stop on the tour is at the western end of Loch Tay and the famous white water of the Falls of Dochart. This waterfall runs through the small town of Killin.

View the falls from the village bridge. Admire the misty spray rising in the air as the river crashes into the rocks then flows around the Island of Inchbuie.

Reach Fort William just in time for lunch. The town is situated on the shores of Loch Linnhe and at the foot of Ben Nevis – the UK’s highest peak. Enjoy the fresh mountain air and get yourself ready for the next leg of the journey.

Close in on your hunt for Nessie

Make a stop at Fort Augustus on the Caledonian canal. Watch the boats navigating the locks. Enjoy spectacular views down Loch Ness.

Drive further along the Loch and take in the scenery. Take a boat cruise on the Loch, if you’ve pre-booked. Your kilted tour guide will wait for you so that you can make the most of your time visiting the largest lake by volume in the UK.

Back on dry land

Head to Urquhart Castle by Drumnadrochit, near Inverness. Learn about some of the most dramatic chapters in Scottish history that took place here.

Make the most of the strategic setting for some wonderful photo opportunities.

Then it’s time to return home.

Along the way stop for coffee and a stretch of the legs. Take the time to speculate upon whether anyone actually saw Nessie.

Have your camera ready for the sublime scenery. As your guide will confirm, the changing light and weather mean it’s never the same twice making your day out unique to you.
